Didn't like the duke. Came across as a caveman...."she needs to be brought to heel" mentality. When she was actually ok just living her life. There was threatened spankings and of course, the teenager punishments of you are ground from your favorite things. She then starts throwing teenage tantrums. He was just.....excruciatingly caveman mannerisms dumb. Writing wasn't very creative either. Overall....juvenile.Product details

Another great read by Fenella J. Miller. People, people you have got to read everything this author writes.
This story was well written and the story line easy to follow. The author drew the readers in and allowed us to experience the many emotions of her characters. I imagine there were events such as these in those times, maybe not with a happy ending but never the less they occurred, hopefully not often. I could not help love the two main characters. The story had intrigue, suspense, romance, and was clean. It was like a Cinderella except with a twist.
This book was sick. Grown men turning young women in to little girls, marrying them and then using spankings as punishment.
Lady Rosamond is the second oldest daughter of the deceased duke. Elliott is the heir. In order to inherit more than just the title, he must marry one of the previous duke's daughters. As soon as he meets Lady Rosamond, Elliott realizes that none other will do. He wanted her to become his bride. Can this marriage of convenience become a love match and what will the Dowager Duchess do to try to prevent it? I liked the main characters. Elliott was a military man, so he is definitely rough around the edges. Lady Rosamond loves her dog, her horse, her mother and her sisters, but her goal in life is to become a writer and to never marry. She is not pleased with Elliott's demand that they marry, but must do her duty. I liked how tender Elliott is with Rosamond. Granted, they do rub each other the wrong way at first, but the attraction is strong between the two. It's a fun read with an unexpected turn, but has a happy ending.
