Restrained Desire Hero Series Book 2 edition by Monique Lamont Yvette Hines Literature Fiction eBooks

I did not like this book. The plot sounded interesting and with the reviews I thought why not it might be good. Well I was wrong. Once again does anyone edit their work anymore. The grammatical errors were frequent and so elementary, it's embarrassing and insulting to the reader. I say this because it's becoming too frequent in many of the IR books I've read that are predominately written by AA authors. If these authors want their work to be taken seriously, they should not just think about publishing a book, but work on their technical writing skills. It's so frustrating that I'm willing to offer proofreading for free.

Now to the actual content of the book. I did not like Veronica, she came off selfish. It was all about her. She came off cold and I just felt sorry for the hero throughout the book. I wondered why was Mark so in love with this woman? What did she ever do for him that he was just so madly in love with her back in college. Throughout the book, the author kept lamenting how they were always there for one another. I beg to differ, yes Mark was always there for Veronica, but Roni for Mark, I don't think so. The story just went on and on about how Mark was always their for her when she needed him in the past and the present. So he agrees to give her a baby with some conditions of course. However, when it's time to reciprocate. SPOILER ALERT Mark asks Veronica to help raise his child, she cuts herself off from them for about a month because she doesn't want to get hurt. ::eye roll:: Forget about a month before that you were developing a relationship with this child and giving false hope to Mark, but hey. Mark also annoyed me, he never stood up to "Roni" until towards the end of the book he finally wakes up , but by that time I didn't really care anymore.

Restrained Desire Hero Series Book 2 edition by Monique Lamont Yvette Hines Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I would recommend this book. It is a IR romance with well developed characters and plot. The author was able to layout the organic growth of the relationship of the main characters.

I appreciated the tastefullness in which the author described the sex scenes between the husband and wife.

Purchase and discover for yourself.
Rating 4.5
Can best friend become lover well some say yes and some say no. Once you read Monique's book then you will have your answer.

Mark Latten & Veronica Matinson has been best friend every since college but what Veronica didn't know was that Mark has been in love with her since they met. For Mark the hardest thing to do was to keep his feeling to himself because for him if the only way to keep Veronica in his life then it will be as friend. Although Mark went through the motion of getting on with his life by getting married but for Mark it was hard and finally the woman he married had enough of coming into second place. It is hard to keep a marriage together when only one person is in love.

Veronica Matinson is driven and doesn't have time to settle down or so she think until her Aunt dies who had been like a mother to Veronica. Veronica is rushing to the hospital when she is inform that her aunt has been admitted. Once Veronica get there and realize how serious her aunt condition is she is just heart broken because her aunt decided not to tell her how bad her condition is, but what she do is give Veronica an eye opener. She tell her that she doesn't want her to end up like her dying alone that she need to find some happiness and have a family.

After her aunt dies Veronica goes to the only person who would understand what her aunt meant to her and that is Mark, and as always he is there for her. Veronica has been thinking a lot about what her aunt told her and decided that she didn't want to die alone. Veronica thought long and hard about the decision she was about to make deciding to have a baby, since she wasn't in a relationship Veronica decided to go to a sperm bank, but after finding fault with every donor she decided to ask Mark to become the sperm donor.

Needless to say once she ask Mark he was not to keen on the ideal and flat out told her no but then the tears came and for Mark that was all it took, he told Veronica he would do it but since he was such a tradition man it would have to be marriage and the Mark and Veronica with a baby carriage...............love that.

The more I write the more I would tell the whole story and I can't do that so you will have to purchase the book to find out what happen.

Do they have a baby and live happily ever after?
Does Mark finally tell her how he truly feels?

Since Mark & Veronica are co-owner of an oceanfront hotel, can you just see how much fun that can have............Yummy, let just say that Monique turn up the heat....this is the 2nd book in the series and it was just as good and as hot as Fire & Desire.......need to purchase that one as well.

This was actually a pretty good story. At some points I didn't care too much for Veronica. As another reviewer stated she was completely oblivious to Mark's feelings so much so it was severely annoying. Furthermore, I didn't like the fact she didn't take his feelings into consideration until it was almost too late.

*SPOILER ALERT*
My only real complaint was I wished she would have reciprocated in the love scenes with him.
*End of Spoiler*

However, I did love the fact that Mark truly loved her and showed her in every way possible. I would definitely recommend this book. I hope the writer decides to write more IR stories in the future.
This one was a pretty good one aside from all of the "spelling issues" I liked the story. I was very interested in what would happen with Veronica and Mark. There were a few things that surprised me a bit, but it was all good. The HEA was pretty good, but it all just kinda seemed too "put together" in a perfect little bow and that kinda was ehh for me. Mark is the "perfect" flawed guy. He was very, very patient and giving but was able to do this without coming off as a push over. He is a cultured, well rounded, good natured, good looking, sexy guy. He has goals and knows what he wants. He's just very compassionate, and confident in who he is and what he does. And there is something very sexy about a man who is not intimidated by a woman who is the same way. Mark's character is very well developed and well written. Although the premise of the story was suppose to be mainly about Veronica and her experiences, Mark IMO certainly stole the show. If you want a quick, heartfelt read I recommend this one. If you can tolerate the mis-spelling!
